  • Turns Ratio Testing. One type of transformer testing concerns what’s called the turns ratio. A transformer has two coils that are used to step up or step down the voltage of the current from one side to the other, and the ration between the number of coils in each is essential for getting the voltage right. In a turns ratio test, our team will examine your coils, make the necessary calculations based on our observations, then check and adjust as necessary.
  • Insulation Resistance Testing. Another common type of transformer testing measures the resistance of its insulation. Transformers need insulation to protect their various components from being damaged by high-voltage surges, so the benefits of checking that this insulation provides sufficient protection should be self-evident.   • Oil Testing. One of the things used to keep your transformers insulated and cool is oil, and it’s important to regularly test this oil for continued effectiveness.
